Martin’s role at Lawrence Clarke

Martin joined the team as a paraplanner in 2024. He spent the previous 10 years in London in various administrative and paraplanning roles, before moving back to the South Coast to be closer to family.

Martin works with Larry and Lelde in the day-to-day support of their clients. Additionally, he has a passion for cashflow planning, financial protection and trusts, and is always happy to do technical research into these areas.

Qualifications

  • R02 (Investment Principles)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of investment products and the application of the investment advice process.

  • R03 (Personal Taxation)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK taxation system, and the ability to analyse the taxation treatment of individuals and trusts during the investment advice process.

  • R04 (Pensions and Retirement Planning)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse pension and retirement planning issues.

  • R05 (Financial Protection)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse financial protection planning issues.

  • R06 (Financial Planning Practice)

    This qualification helps advisers develop and demonstrate their financial planning capabilities.

When Martin isn’t working

Outside of work, Martin is a keen singer, having sung tenor in the London Philharmonic Choir for several years. He has been lucky enough to perform in some of the most notable venues in the world, including the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall. He is also a keen theatregoer, baker, tennis watcher, and doting uncle to his nieces and nephew.

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

My ideal holiday would be a city break with my five closest friends. It doesn’t matter where we are, as long as we are all together, exploring, chatting, and eating good food.

What are three things you’d like to do in the future?

Perform in a musical, visit the Australian Open, French Open and/or US Open, and go on the Great British Bake Off.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

Front row seats to the 2018 revival of my favourite musical – Company.

When the dessert menu arrives, what are you looking for?

Creme brulee or anything lemony.
