Paul has worked in the world of financial services since 1981, when he started at the pensions department of the DHSS in Bromley. His career took him through the City of London before he settled on the South Coast in 1985.

With experience gained at a Southampton-based firm and Scottish Widows, Paul established his own firm in 1992. He brings a wealth of expertise to his role at Lawrence Clarke, where he has been a valued member since 2014. Paul has fostered a dedicated client base, some of who have relied on his advice for over three decades.

  • AFA (Advanced Financial Advice)

    The unit introduces knowledge and understanding of financial institutions to enable you to identify the different types of service that they provide. It explains the functions and importance of the main components of the monetary and financial system, enabling you to recognise and appreciate the influences on the financial institutions and markets, including financial intermediation and disintermediation. It introduces the concept and nature of risk and factors to the advice process for financial advice and enables you to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the FCA’s approach to ethical and unethical behaviours and develop understanding of the Code of Ethics.

  • FRSE (Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics)

    This qualification delivers a comprehensive introduction to the UK financial services and focuses on the environment, key components and interrelationships of the financial system, and legal concepts relevant to retail financial advice. It appears in the apprenticeship standards for the Financial Services Administrator and the Compliance / Risk Officer.

Outside of work, Paul and his wife indulge in their shared passions, including travelling, watching live music, exploring foreign cities, and spending time with their German Shepherd, Woody. Paul is a dedicated fan of Charlton Athletic, a loyalty he’s maintained throughout his life.
